Elizabeth is a seasoned educational psychologist and wellness practitioner based on the West Rand, on the border of Roodepoort and Krugersdorp, Gauteng. Since registering with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in 2006, she has dedicated her career to helping children, adolescents and young adults navigate the challenges of learning, mental health issues and family well-being.
Elizabeth’s broad expertise spans over 18 years, combining a strong foundation in child, teenage and young adult development with a compassionate, client-centred approach to therapy and educational support

Psychometric testing

Elizabeth is skilled in conducting a range of educational assessments and psychometric testing. These assessments are critical for understanding and addressing a variety of issues, from school readiness and learning difficulties to giftedness. Elizabeth offers specialised psychometric assessments to help identify and address a variety of learning and developmental issues to support learners, parents and educators. These assessments provide detailed insights into cognitive abilities, academic functioning, emotional functioning and learning potential which form the basis of individual support plans. Psychometric testing is conducted in-person and includes:

  • School Readiness Assessments: Evaluating a child’s preparedness for formal schooling by assessing cognitive, emotional and social readiness to ensure they have the necessary developmental skills. Recommendations for bridging gaps in skills are provided.
  • Cognitive Assessments: Identifying cognitive strengths and weaknesses to support tailored educational interventions. Identifying specific learning challenges such as dyslexia, dyscalculia or perceptual processing difficulties that may affect a learner or student’s academic performance. Detailed reports and intervention plans are provided to guide educators and parents setting up individual education support plans.
  • Academic or Scholastic Assessments: Assessing academic performance of learners and students with dyslexia, ADHD or other learning disabilities that might be impacting schoolwork or studies and developing individual education support plans and coping strategies to enable them to reach their full potential in educational environments.
  • School Placement: Assisting in selecting the most appropriate educational environment for a child’s learning style and needs, whether it’s a mainstream school, vocational training or specialised institution for learners with special educational needs (LSEN).
  • Giftedness Assessments: Identifying intellectual and creative potential to ensure appropriate educational challenges. Recognising advanced intellectual abilities and creating individualised education support plans to nurture gifted learners.
  • Examination Concessions, Accommodations and Exam Access Arrangements: Assessing learners’ needs for accommodations such as extra time, oral exams or alternative test formats, ensuring equitable academic opportunities and for learners to reach their full potential.
  • Study Difficulties and Study Skills Support: Analysing barriers to effective learning, such as poor study habits or time management and providing actionable strategies for academic improvement, particularly for those struggling with study difficulties or exam anxiety.
  • Subject Choices and Career Guidance: Helping learners explore their strengths, interests and aptitudes to make informed decisions about subject choices by choosing subjects that align with their skills and interests. Guiding young adults in selecting a suitable career path based on their abilities and personal interests. Comprehensive aptitude, interest, values and personality assessments are included.
Emotional and psychological support
